Service Categories groups your services into the tabs a pet owner sees on your booking page, and sets the order those tabs appear in. Open it from Services, then Service Categories.
A category is presentation. It does not change pricing, duration, eligibility or which team member can deliver a service, and it does not decide where an add-on shows.
Set the order of your tabs
The Category order card lists every category that has at least one service in it. That order is the tab order on your booking page.
Open Services > Service Categories.
Drag a row in Category order into position.
The first global category in the list is the one your booking page title and link preview lead with. Categories you created yourself are skipped there, because their names describe your menu rather than what pet owners search for. Global Categories
Global Categories are the system categories Petboost ships, covering the usual pet services. They are locked, so you cannot rename, recolour or delete one. You can still drag the ones you use into the order you want, from Category order.
Most businesses never need more than these.
Create your own category
Create a custom category when your services do not sit comfortably in a system one, such as a package of workshops or a seasonal range.
Select Add Category.
On Name & Description, fill in Category Name, and Description (optional) if the name alone is not clear enough.
On Images & Colours, upload an Icon (optional) and a Background Image (optional), then set the Badge Colour. Primary Colour is the text, and the swatch under it is the background. The preview shows the finished chip as Primary and Background.
On Review & Publish, check the preview and save.
Leave the icon and the image empty and the category falls back to the default artwork. Nothing breaks.
Put a service in a category
Category is set on the service, not here.
Open Services and select the service.
Open Basic Info.
Set Service Category and save.
The category you created appears in Category order once one service uses it.
Edit or delete a category
Your Custom Categories lists the ones you made. Each row has an edit control and a delete control.
Deleting is permanent and Petboost warns you before it happens. A category that still has services in it cannot be deleted: you get Cannot delete category with the reason that it may be in use. Move those services to another category first, then delete.
You cannot delete a global category.
