Membership Categories groups your membership plans so a pet owner comparing them sees them sorted rather than in one long list. Open it from Memberships, then Membership Categories.
A category is presentation only. It does not change a plan's price, its billing cycle, its benefits or who can join it.
Unlike service categories, there are no system categories here. The list starts empty and every category is one you create.
Create a category
Open Memberships > Membership Categories.
Select Add Category. If the list is empty, select Create First Category.
Fill in Category Name, and Description (optional) where the name alone is not clear enough.
Optional: upload an icon and an image. Leave them and the category uses the default artwork, shown as Using default icon and Using default image.
Select Create Category.
Name a category for what the pet owner is choosing between, not for how you bill it. "Grooming Plans" tells them something. "Tier 2" does not.
Put a plan in a category
Category is set on the plan, not here.
Open Memberships and select the plan.
On Details, set Plan Category and save.
Your Categories shows a count beside each category so you can see at a glance which ones are carrying plans and which are empty.
Edit or delete a category
Each row in Your Categories has an edit control and a delete control.
To change a name, an image or an icon, select edit, change it, then select Save Changes. To replace an uploaded icon or image with the default, select Use Default.
Deleting is permanent. Petboost shows the category you are about to remove and asks you to confirm with Delete Category. Plans in a deleted category are not deleted with it.
When you do not need categories
If you run three plans, skip this page. Categories earn their place when a pet owner has to compare several plans that split cleanly by what they are for, such as grooming plans against daycare plans, or one category per location.
