Mission Control FAQ

Common questions, troubleshooting tips, best practices, and keyboard shortcuts for Mission Control.

General Questions

What's the difference between Mission Control and Appointments?

Mission Control is your operational dashboard for daily task execution:

  • Quick actions for common operations

  • Attention system for proactive management

  • Multiple view modes for different workflows

  • Optimised for mobile and on-the-go use

  • Revenue and business intelligence

Appointments Calendar is your detailed scheduling tool:

  • Detailed calendar with day/week/month/timeline views

  • Drag-and-drop time rescheduling

  • Resource allocation planning

  • Recurring appointment setup

  • Advanced scheduling features

Use both: Start your day in Mission Control, use Appointments Calendar for detailed scheduling work.

Can I still use the calendar view?

Yes! The Appointments Calendar is still fully available in your navigation menu. Mission Control doesn't replace it-it complements it. Use Mission Control for daily operations and the calendar for detailed scheduling.

Does Mission Control work on mobile?

Absolutely! Mission Control is fully optimised for mobile devices with:

  • Appointments and Overview tabs, plus a bottom bar with View, Search, Quick, Filters and Group

  • Touch-friendly drag-and-drop in Workflow View

  • Swipeable appointment cards

  • Full-screen search and filter drawers

  • Every view except Grid

How do I access keyboard shortcuts?

Mission Control has no keyboard shortcuts of its own. These work anywhere in Petboost:

Can I set Mission Control as my default page?

Yes. Go to Settings and choose Mission Control under Default Page on Load. The setting applies to your whole team.

Can I drag appointments to reschedule them in Mission Control?

No. Mission Control does not support time-based rescheduling via drag-and-drop.

Dragging in Mission Control (specifically in Workflow View) changes the appointment's status, not its time. If you need to move an appointment to a different time or date, use the Appointments Calendar instead:

  1. Navigate to the Appointments Calendar from the main menu

  2. Switch to Day, Week, or Timeline view

  3. Click and drag the appointment to a new time slot

  4. The appointment time updates automatically

Summary:

  • Workflow View drag-and-drop = changes status (e.g., Arriving to In Progress)

  • Appointments Calendar drag-and-drop = changes time/date

See the full guide: View Modes Explained

Can I see calendar events and appointments in the same view?

Mission Control focuses on appointments and operational tasks rather than general calendar events.

What Mission Control shows:

  • Pet appointments (grooming, daycare, boarding, etc.)

  • Course sessions

  • Blocked time (staff breaks, maintenance)

  • Stay check-ins and check-outs

For general calendar events:

Use the Appointments Calendar for a traditional calendar view where you can see:

  • All appointments

  • Blocked time periods

  • Different view modes (Day, Week, Month, Timeline)

  • Resource and team member allocation

Tip: Use Mission Control for daily operations and task management, and the Appointments Calendar when you need a traditional calendar overview.

View Modes

Which view mode should I use?

It depends on your business type and current task:

Daycare facilities: Pets View or Workflow View
Boarding/kennels: Stays View or Resources View
Mobile groomers: Team Members View
Training centres: Pets View or Team Members View
Multi-service businesses: List View or Workflow View
General use: List View (most versatile)

See the full guide: View Modes Explained

How do I save my preferred view?

Mission Control automatically remembers your last selected view mode. Next time you open Mission Control, you'll see the same view. No manual saving required.

Why can't I see the drag lock toggle?

The drag lock toggle only appears in Workflow View (Kanban). If you're in List View, Pets View, or other views, you won't see it. Switch to Workflow View to access drag lock.

Can I drag appointments on mobile?

Yes! Workflow View is fully optimised for mobile with touch-friendly drag-and-drop:

  1. Switch to Workflow View

  2. Turn drag lock OFF (toggle the unlock icon)

  3. Touch and hold an appointment card

  4. Drag to a different status column

  5. Release to drop

  6. Status updates automatically

Tip: Mobile devices may provide haptic feedback on successful drop.

Why do I see the same appointment twice in Resources & Team View?

A booking can show in more than one column. When its services have different team members or resources, each column shows the part assigned to it. A booking with more than one resource appears once for each resource. A booking with both a team member and a resource sits in the shared column for that pair, such as Sarah + Grooming Station 2, not in the team member's or the resource's own column.

If duplicates are confusing:

  • Filter to one resource

  • Use List, Pets or Workflow, which group bookings by something other than resource

How do I customise which columns show in List View?

List View does not currently offer column-level customisation (choosing which data fields appear on each appointment card). However, you can control how appointments are grouped and sorted, which shapes what you see:

Grouping options (effectively changes the "columns" of your list):

  • Group by Appointment Status (default)

  • Group by Start Time (morning, afternoon, evening)

  • Group by Team Member

  • Group by Resource

Sorting options (controls order within each group):

  • Pet Name (A-Z)

  • Arrival Time

  • Service Name

  • Stay Duration

  • Course Session

To change grouping or sorting:

  1. Find the "Group by" or "Sort by" dropdown in the toolbar

  2. Select your preferred option

  3. The list reorganises instantly

  4. Your selection is remembered for next time

Tip: If you need a traditional table with selectable columns, export your data via the reporting tools or contact support about upcoming enhancements.

Can I customise the columns in Workflow View?

The status columns in Workflow View are fixed:

  • Confirmed

  • In Progress

  • Ready to Pay (Completed, Ready to Pay, Payment Declined)

  • Checked out & Paid

Stay Arrivals and Stay Departures appear when you have stay appointments that day. There is no Ready for Pickup column. Cards only move forward. Use Undo Check Out on the card or appointment to send Ready to Pay back to the status it held before check out. You cannot customise these columns.

How do I use the Stays View for boarding?

Stays View is a specialised view mode designed for businesses that offer overnight boarding, pet hotels, or multi-day care. It focuses entirely on stay appointments and their lifecycle.

Getting started with Stays View:

  1. Switch to Stays View from the view mode selector (moon/star icon)

  2. You will see all current boarders grouped by phase

Phase indicators:

  • Upcoming (blue) -- Checking in soon

  • Active (green) -- Currently boarding

  • Checking out today (amber) -- Departing today

  • Past (grey) -- Already checked out

Each stay card shows:

  • Pet name and photo

  • Owner name

  • Check-in and check-out dates

  • Duration (total nights)

  • Current day of stay (e.g., "Day 3 of 5")

  • Kennel or room assignment

Grouping options in Stays View:

  • Group by Resource (default) -- See which kennels are occupied

  • Group by Stay Phase -- See check-ins, active boarders, and check-outs together

Best practices:

  • Use Stays View each morning to see who is checking in and out

  • Combine with Week View for a multi-day occupancy overview

  • Use the Create Stay quick action to book new boarding appointments

See the full guide: View Modes Explained

I don't see Stays View -- why?

Stays View only appears if you have stay services configured in your business. If you don't offer overnight boarding, this view mode won't show. Set up stay services in Settings > Services to enable it.

How do I see which kennels are occupied for boarding?

Use Resources View for kennel occupancy:

  1. Switch to Resources View in Mission Control

  2. Each kennel/resource shows as a row

  3. Appointments display within each resource lane

  4. See at a glance which kennels are occupied vs available

For multi-day overview:

  • Switch to Week View to see occupancy across the week

  • Stays span multiple days, showing check-in to check-out

  • Identify gaps and peak periods

Alternative: Use Stays View

  • Switch to Stays View for boarding-focused display

  • Shows all current boarders grouped by stay

  • Includes check-in/check-out times and duration

How do I prevent overbooking kennels?

Petboost automatically prevents overbooking when resources are properly configured:

  1. Create resources for each kennel:

    • Navigate to Resources → New Resource

    • Name each kennel (e.g., "Kennel 1", "Kennel 2")

    • Set capacity to 1 per kennel (or appropriate limit)

  2. Assign resources to boarding services:

    • Edit your boarding service

    • Go to Team & Resource Assignment

    • Mark resource as Required

    • Select which kennels can be used

  3. Magic Schedule respects capacity:

    • When customers book, system only offers available slots

    • Cannot double-book a kennel that's already occupied

    • Conflicts shown if using Quick Force override

Result: Maximum occupancy enforced automatically. No manual tracking needed.

Can I see a report of kennel utilisation?

Current options:

  1. Resources View in Mission Control shows real-time occupancy

  2. Week View gives weekly overview of resource usage

  3. Filter by resource to see appointments for specific kennels

In Development: Dedicated resource utilisation reports showing:

  • Capacity utilisation percentages

  • Peak occupancy periods

  • Revenue per resource

  • Maintenance scheduling recommendations

Resources & Team View is too cramped on my screen-what should I do?

Every team member, resource and pairing gets its own column, so this view needs a wide screen. On smaller screens:

  • Scroll sideways to see more columns

  • Filter to one team member or resource

  • Use a larger monitor

  • Rotate tablet to landscape orientation

Attention System

What do the attention indicators mean?

The Attention System uses colour-coded badges to flag items that need your action. There are two main cards: Attention Required (operational issues) and Special Attention (pet care needs).

  1. Click the relevant card (Attention Required or Special Attention)

  2. A full-screen dialog opens with all flagged items grouped by type

  3. Review each item and take action using the quick action menu

  4. Items automatically clear when the underlying issue is resolved

See the full guide: Attention System

How do I chase customers who have not agreed to my terms?

  1. Open Mission Control

  2. Click the Attention Required card

  3. Open the Terms Not Agreed group

That group only includes customers with at least one future active booking. Tap Send SMS request on a card, or turn on Bulk SMS Mode to send more than one. Each send is logged on Timeline & Notes.

Customers also see your terms first thing when they log in. If they are at the desk, use Kiosk Mode. Full steps: Policies & Paperwork.

How do I see which appointments have unpaid balances?

There are several ways to find appointments with outstanding payments:

Method 1: Attention Required card (recommended)

  1. Look at the Attention Required card on Mission Control

  2. The red "Outstanding Payments" badge shows the count

  3. Click the card to open the full details dialog

  4. All appointments with unpaid balances are listed with amounts owed

Method 2: Quick Filter

  1. Find the Quick Filters in the left sidebar (or filters drawer on mobile)

  2. Click "Needs Payment" to filter to appointments with payment issues

  3. Or click "Outstanding Balance" to see customers who owe money

  4. The main view updates to show only matching appointments

Method 3: Status filter

  1. Open the status filter dropdown

  2. Select "Ready to Pay" and "Payment Declined"

  3. This shows appointments in payment-related statuses

Tip: Use the Bulk Charge button in the Attention Required dialog to process multiple outstanding payments at once. See How do I bulk charge multiple customers? for step-by-step instructions.

Why am I seeing outstanding payment alerts?

Outstanding payment alerts appear when:

  • Appointments are completed but payment not processed

  • Payment method declined

  • Invoice created but not charged

  • Customer has unpaid previous appointments

To reduce these alerts:

  • Enable automatic payment processing (if available)

  • Train staff to process payments before pets depart

  • Use bulk charge more frequently

  • Ensure payment methods are captured at booking

How do I bulk charge all completed appointments?

Bulk Charge lets you process multiple outstanding payments in a single action, saving significant time at the end of the day or week.

Step-by-step:

  1. Click the Attention Required card on Mission Control

  2. Navigate to the "Outstanding Payments" section

  3. Click the "Bulk Charge" button

  4. Review the revenue collection preview showing total amount and appointment count

  5. Select which appointments to charge (all are selected by default)

  6. Click "Process Bulk Charge"

  7. Wait for all charges to process

  8. Review the results dialog showing successful and failed charges

What happens after processing:

  • Successful charges (green) -- Marked as paid, receipt sent to customer automatically

  • Failed charges (red) -- Remain unpaid with failure reason displayed

Common failure reasons:

  • Insufficient funds

  • Expired card

  • Card declined by bank

  • No payment method on file

What to do with failures:

  1. Note the failure reason for each

  2. Contact those customers individually

  3. Request an alternative payment method

  4. Retry the charge once the issue is resolved

When to use bulk charge:

  • End of each business day

  • Weekly outstanding payment sweeps

  • Before public holidays or extended closures

  • Any time the Outstanding Payments count is building up

Tip: Bulk Charge also works on mobile with a touch-optimised interface. See the full guide: Attention System

What's the difference between medical and behavioural attention?

Medical Conditions:

  • Health-related issues (allergies, chronic conditions, medications)

  • Red badge (high priority)

  • Requires health awareness and potentially medical preparation

Behavioural Needs:

  • Handling and temperament issues (anxiety, aggression, reactivity)

  • Amber badge (medium priority)

  • Requires experienced staff and special handling approach

Both appear in Special Attention but serve different purposes.

How far ahead does birthday tracking show?

Birthday tracking shows pets with birthdays within a 7-day window:

  • 7 days before - Upcoming birthdays

  • Today - Birthday is today!

  • 7 days after - Recent birthdays you may have missed

This gives you time to prepare special treats or attention and a grace period if you missed the actual day.

A pet appears in Special Attention but shouldn't-what do I do?

Check the pet's profile and review their attributes:

  1. Navigate to Customers & Pets

  2. Find the pet

  3. Review their attributes

  4. Remove or update any incorrect medical/behavioural/dietary flags

Special Attention automatically clears when the attribute is removed.

Can I dismiss attention items?

No, attention items can't be manually dismissed. They automatically clear when the underlying issue is resolved:

  • Outstanding payments → Clear when payment is processed

  • Depleted packages → Clear when package is renewed or appointment paid separately

  • Overdue status → Clear when status is updated

  • Medical/behavioural flags → Clear when attribute is removed from pet profile

What's considered "overdue" for status changes?

Generally:

  • Confirmed → In Progress: 15 minutes after scheduled start time

  • In Progress → Completed: 15 minutes after scheduled end time

  • Completed → Departed: 30 minutes after completion

These timings may vary based on your business settings and service durations.

Filtering & Search

Can I filter Mission Control by team member?

Yes. There are two approaches depending on what you need:

Approach 1: Team Members View (best for team-focused workflows)

  1. Switch to Team Members View from the view mode selector (person icon)

  2. Appointments are automatically grouped by assigned team member

  3. Each team member gets their own section with all their appointments listed

  4. Unassigned appointments appear in a separate section

Approach 2: List View grouped by team member

  1. Stay in List View

  2. Open the "Group by" dropdown in the toolbar

  3. Select "Team Member"

  4. Appointments reorganise into sections per team member

  5. Combine with status or quick filters for further refinement

Approach 3: Search by team member name

  1. Use the search bar

  2. Type the team member's name

  3. Results filter to show their appointments

Example combination for a specific groomer's unpaid appointments:

  1. Switch to List View

  2. Group by Team Member

  3. Apply Quick Filter: "Needs Payment"

  4. Scroll to the groomer's section

  5. See only their appointments that need payment

See the full guide: Filtering & Organisation

Why aren't my filters showing results?

You may have combined incompatible filters:

Common conflicts:

  • Status: "Cancelled" + Quick Filter: "Arriving Soon" → Cancelled appointments aren't arriving

  • Status: "Paid" + Quick Filter: "Needs Payment" → Paid appointments don't need payment

Solution:

  1. Click "Clear All" to reset filters

  2. Apply filters one at a time

  3. Check results after each filter

How do I clear all filters at once?

  1. Find the "Clear All" or "Reset" button in the toolbar

  2. Click it

  3. All filters remove instantly

  4. All appointments visible again

Note: This clears:

  • Status filters

  • Quick filters

  • Search text

  • Attribute filters

  • Grouping and sorting return to defaults

What does the filter count badge mean?

The filter count badge shows how many filters are currently active:

  • Each status filter counts as 1

  • Each quick filter counts as 1

  • Search counts as 1

  • Each attribute filter counts as 1

Example: If you have:

  • Status: Confirmed + In Progress (2 filters)

  • Quick Filter: Special Attention (1 filter)

  • Search: "Grooming" (1 filter)

  • Total: 4 active filters (badge shows "4")

How do weekday filters work in week view?

When you switch to Week View, weekday filter buttons appear (SUN, MON, TUE, WED, THU, FRI, SAT).

Smart defaults:

  • Current week: Defaults to "today onwards" (if today is Wednesday, shows Wed-Sat)

  • Future/past weeks: Defaults to all days selected

Using weekday filters:

  1. Click any day button to toggle on/off

  2. Blue = selected (appointments shown)

  3. Grey border = not selected (appointments hidden)

  4. White dot = today

  5. At least one day must remain selected

Reset: Click "Reset to Defaults" to restore smart defaults.

Search isn't finding a pet I know exists-why?

Check these common issues:

  1. Date/week selection: Is the appointment on the selected day/week?

  2. Spelling: Try a partial name instead (e.g., "Bel" instead of "Bella")

  3. Other filters: Clear all filters first, then search

  4. Appointment cancelled: Cancelled appointments may be filtered out

  5. Case sensitivity: Search is case-insensitive, but check spelling

Troubleshooting:

  1. Click "Clear All" filters

  2. Ensure you're viewing the correct date/week

  3. Try searching just the first few letters

  4. Check if pet has an appointment scheduled

Can I save filter combinations?

Not yet. Filter combinations don't currently persist across sessions, except:

  • View mode selection

  • Grouping preference

  • Sort order

Search text and quick filters reset each session. We recommend creating mental "filter patterns" for common tasks.

Revenue & Intelligence

How do I see today's revenue at a glance?

Mission Control displays revenue information in several places, depending on your device:

On desktop:

  1. Look at the Revenue Card in the right sidebar

  2. It shows today's total expected revenue at the top

  3. Below that, you will see collected vs outstanding amounts, package value, and cash vs card breakdown

On mobile:

  1. Tap Overview under the date

  2. Scroll to the Revenue Intelligence carousel

  3. Swipe between the revenue card and the service distribution card

What the Revenue Card shows:

Metric

Description

Today's Revenue

Total expected revenue for today's appointments

Collected vs Outstanding

How much has been paid vs still awaiting payment

Package Value

Value of package credits being redeemed today

Cash vs Card

Breakdown by payment method

Quick morning check:

  • Open Mission Control

  • Glance at the Revenue Card for today's expected total

  • Check the "Outstanding" amount to see how much is yet to be collected

  • Use the week-over-week comparison to see if you are up or down from the same day last week

Tip: Revenue figures update as appointment statuses change throughout the day. Check again at end of day to verify all payments have been collected.

Can I see week-over-week comparison on the dashboard?

Yes. Mission Control includes built-in week-over-week comparison to help you track business performance trends.

Where to find it:

  • Desktop: Revenue Intelligence section in the right sidebar

  • Mobile: Revenue Intelligence on the Overview tab

How comparison works:

View

Compares

Day View

Today vs the same weekday last week (e.g., this Wednesday vs last Wednesday)

Week View

This full week (Mon-Sun) vs last full week

What the comparison shows:

  • Revenue increase or decrease (absolute amount)

  • Percentage change

  • Trend indicators (up arrow or down arrow)

Example:

  • Today (Wednesday): $1,250 revenue

  • Last Wednesday: $1,100 revenue

  • Comparison: +$150 (+13.6%) with an upward trend indicator

How to use this data:

  • Spot growth trends -- Consistent upward arrows indicate healthy growth

  • Identify slow periods -- Downward trends may signal seasonal dips or lost customers

  • Measure campaign impact -- Compare before and after running a promotion

  • Set targets -- Use last week's figures as a baseline for this week's goals

Tip: Switch to Week View to see the aggregated weekly comparison, which smooths out daily fluctuations and gives a clearer trend picture.

Why doesn't my revenue match my accounting?

Mission Control shows expected revenue for the selected date/week based on appointments:

  • Includes appointments not yet paid

  • Includes package redemptions (shows package value)

  • Based on service pricing at time of booking

  • May differ from actual cash collected

Your accounting system shows:

  • Actual payments received

  • May be on different dates (payment vs appointment date)

  • Real cash flow

Use Mission Control revenue for:

  • Daily operational planning

  • Comparing day-to-day performance

  • Understanding service mix

Use accounting system for:

  • Financial reporting

  • Tax preparation

  • Actual cash flow analysis

What's included in revenue calculations?

Included:

  • Single appointment service fees

  • Package redemption values (at package purchase price)

  • Appointments in active statuses (Pending through Paid)

Excluded:

  • Cancelled appointments

  • No-show appointments

  • Declined appointments

Package note: When a package credit is redeemed, the revenue shown is the per-service value from when the package was originally purchased, not the current single-service price.

How do package redemptions affect revenue?

When a customer redeems a package credit:

  • Revenue is counted - Shows the value of the service being redeemed

  • Marked as package redemption - Indicated in the revenue breakdown

  • Doesn't double-count - Package purchase revenue was counted when package was sold

  • Value shown - Based on package price, not current single-service price

Example:

  • Customer bought 10-pack for $400 ($40 per service)

  • Redeems 1 credit today

  • Mission Control shows $40 revenue (package redemption)

  • Even if current single-service price is $50

What's the week-over-week comparison?

Mission Control compares your current day/week to the same period last week:

Day View:

  • Compares today to this day last week (e.g., this Wednesday vs last Wednesday)

Week View:

  • Compares this full week to last full week (Monday-Sunday)

Comparison shows:

  • Revenue increase or decrease

  • Percentage change

  • Trend indicators (↑ or ↓)

Use this to:

  • Identify growth or decline trends

  • Compare same-day performance weekly

  • Monitor business health

Performance & Data

How often does Mission Control refresh?

Automatic refresh:

  • Not currently automatic

  • Refresh manually when needed

Manual refresh:

  • Close and reopen Mission Control

  • Or use browser refresh (but may lose some state)

Real-time updates:

  • Attention counts update as issues are resolved

  • Filter results update instantly as you change filters

Can I manually refresh the data?

Yes, simply close and reopen Mission Control to refresh all data. A dedicated refresh button may be added in future updates.

Why are some appointments missing from Mission Control?

There are several reasons an appointment might not appear in Mission Control. Work through this checklist:

1. Wrong date or week selected

  • Check the date displayed in the header

  • Use the left/right arrows to navigate to the correct day

  • If in Week View, ensure you are viewing the right week

2. Active filters hiding the appointment

  • Check the filter count badge -- if it shows a number, filters are active

  • Click "Clear All" to remove all filters

  • The appointment may be excluded by a status filter, quick filter, or search term

3. Status is filtered out

  • By default, cancelled, declined, and no-show appointments may not display

  • Open the status filter dropdown and ensure the appointment's status is checked

4. Weekday filtering (Week View only)

  • In Week View, check the weekday buttons (SUN-SAT)

  • The day the appointment falls on must be selected (blue)

  • Click the day button to toggle it on if it is grey

5. Search term is active

  • If text is in the search bar, only matching appointments show

  • Clear the search field to see all appointments

6. Appointment does not exist

  • Navigate to the Appointments Calendar

  • Search for the appointment there

  • Verify it has been created and is not in a cancelled state

If the appointment exists in the Calendar but not in Mission Control after clearing all filters, try refreshing the page or closing and reopening Mission Control.

How do I check kennel occupancy for the week?

For a multi-day overview of kennel and resource occupancy, combine Resources View or Stays View with Week View:

Method 1: Resources View + Week View (best for seeing all resources)

  1. Switch to Resources View from the view mode selector

  2. Toggle to Week View using the Day/Week toggle

  3. Each resource (kennel, room, suite) shows as a section

  4. Appointments span across the days they occupy

  5. At a glance, see which kennels are booked and which have availability

Method 2: Stays View + Week View (best for boarding-focused businesses)

  1. Switch to Stays View from the view mode selector

  2. Toggle to Week View

  3. See all boarders with their check-in and check-out dates

  4. Stays span multiple days, showing the full duration

  5. Identify gaps and peak occupancy periods

Using weekday filters for specific days:

  1. In Week View, use the weekday buttons to focus on particular days

  2. For example, select only FRI, SAT, SUN to check weekend occupancy

  3. See which kennels are free for potential weekend bookings

Identifying availability:

  • Resources with no appointments listed underneath are available

  • The Active Boarders card (visible when you have stay services) shows total current boarders

  • Compare active boarder count to total kennel capacity to gauge occupancy percentage

Tip: For real-time single-day occupancy, switch back to Day View in Resources View. Each resource card shows its current status (free, occupied, or blocked).

Why are some appointments missing?

Check these possibilities:

  1. Date selection: Are you viewing the correct day/week?

  2. Active filters: Clear all filters to see all appointments

  3. Status filtering: Cancelled/No-show appointments may be hidden

  4. Weekday filtering: (Week View) Ensure all needed days are selected

  5. Search active: Clear search to see all appointments

Troubleshooting:

  1. Click "Clear All" filters

  2. Select correct date/week

  3. If still missing, check Appointments Calendar to verify appointment exists

Does filtering affect performance?

No, filtering in Mission Control is very fast and doesn't impact performance. Mission Control is designed to handle:

  • High appointment volumes

  • Multiple simultaneous filters

  • Real-time filtering updates

If you experience slowness, it's likely related to:

  • Network connection

  • Browser performance

  • Large data sets (contact support if this is an issue)

  • Secondary: Team Members View, Resources View

  • Avoid: Resources & Team View (many columns)

Can I compress the header on mobile?

No. Compress and Expand are on desktop only. On smaller screens, the flow graph and other cards sit on the Overview tab, so the Appointments tab shows the list without them.

Mobile filters and search aren't working-what do I do?

Search drawer:

  1. Tap search icon

  2. Full-screen drawer should open

  3. If it doesn't, try refreshing the page

Filters drawer:

  3. Select filters

  4. Close drawer to apply

  • Clear browser cache

  • Close and reopen the app

Efficient filtering strategies

Strategy 1: Progressive Refinement

Start broad, narrow down:

  1. View all appointments (no filters)

  2. Apply status filter

  3. Add quick filter if needed

  4. Apply grouping

  5. Set sort order

Strategy 2: Task-Specific Patterns

Create mental filter combinations:

  • Payment processing: Quick Filter "Needs Payment" + Status "Ready to Pay"

  • Special care: Quick Filter "Special Attention" + Group by "Start Time"

  • Team assignment: View "Team Members View" + Status "Confirmed"

Strategy 3: Use Search First

For specific pets/owners:

  1. Search first (fastest)

  2. Apply filters to refine

  3. Clear search when done

Keyboard shortcuts for power users

Mission Control has no keyboard shortcuts of its own. These work anywhere in Petboost:

Troubleshooting

Mission Control isn't loading

Try these steps:

  1. Refresh the page - Press F5 or Cmd+R

  2. Clear browser cache - Clear cache and cookies for Petboost

  3. Try different browser - Test in Chrome, Firefox, or Safari

  4. Check internet connection - Verify you're online

  5. Disable browser extensions - Some ad blockers cause issues

  6. Contact support - If none of above work

Filters not working

Common issues:

  1. Incompatible combinations - Clear all and start fresh

  2. No results - Filter combination is too restrictive

  3. Count badge wrong - Refresh the page

  4. Filter stuck - Clear all filters and reapply

Solution:

  1. Click "Clear All"

  2. Refresh page if needed

  3. Apply filters one at a time

  4. Check results after each filter

Can't find an appointment

Checklist:

  • [ ] Correct date/week selected?

  • [ ] All filters cleared?

  • [ ] Search cleared?

  • [ ] Weekday filters (Week View) include the right day?

  • [ ] Status includes the appointment's current status?

  • [ ] Appointment exists (check in Appointments Calendar)?

If still missing:

  • Navigate to Appointments Calendar

  • Search for the appointment there

  • Verify it exists and isn't cancelled

Drag and drop not responding

Workflow View drag-and-drop:

  1. Check drag lock - Ensure drag lock is OFF (unlock icon)

  2. Correct view - Ensure you're in Workflow View, not List View

  3. Mobile touch - Touch and hold (don't just tap)

  4. Browser support - Some older browsers don't support drag-and-drop

  5. Refresh page - Close and reopen Mission Control

If still not working:

  • Try a different browser (Chrome recommended)

  • Ensure JavaScript is enabled

  • Contact support with browser details

Mobile bottom nav not showing

Possible causes:

  1. Wide window - The bottom bar appears only when the Mission Control area is narrower than about 1,046 pixels, such as on a phone, a tablet, a narrow browser window, or with a side panel open

  2. Browser incompatibility - Try native mobile browser

  3. App not loaded - Refresh the page

  4. Desktop view - Ensure you're not in desktop mode

Solution:

  • Refresh the page

  • Try closing and reopening browser

  • Clear mobile browser cache

  • Verify you're accessing the mobile-optimised site

Revenue numbers seem wrong

Common explanations:

  1. Package redemptions - Counted at package purchase price, not current price

  2. Cancelled appointments - Not included in revenue

  3. Pending payments - Included in revenue (expected, not collected)

  4. Date range - Ensure you're viewing the correct day/week

Remember:

  • Mission Control shows expected revenue (based on appointments)

  • Your accounting system shows collected revenue (actual payments)

  • These may differ and both are correct for different purposes
