Dashboard Intelligence & Analytics

Overview

Mission Control displays business insights that help you understand your day, spot trends, and make informed decisions. This guide explains each dashboard card and what the data means for your business.

Revenue Card

Location: Right sidebar on desktop. On smaller screens, Revenue Intelligence on the Overview tab

What It Shows

Metric

Description

Today's Revenue

Today's revenue on the basis you have chosen

Collected or Earned

Switch between money taken today and money spread across a stay. See How we count

Collected vs Outstanding

How much has been paid vs awaiting payment

Package Value

Cash vs Card

Breakdown by payment method

How to Use

  • Morning check: See your expected revenue for the day

  • End of day: Verify all payments collected match expectations

  • Spot issues: Large "Outstanding" amounts may indicate payment problems

Understanding Package Revenue

Package redemptions show the allocated value of package credits used, not new money collected. This helps you understand the true value of work being performed.

Flow Graph

Location: On desktop, select Expand at the top of Mission Control. The flow graph sits in the top row, headed by your opening status, such as Open now. On smaller screens, it is the first card in Daily Activity on the Overview tab.

What It Shows

A bar chart of the bookings in each hour of the selected day. A booking counts in every hour from its start until it ends or is paid. In week view, each bar is one day.

  • Status colours: Each bar is split by the status each booking had in that hour: Pending (blue), Confirmed (green), In Progress (pink), Completed and Ready to Pay (indigo), and Paid (dark green). Hover over a bar to see the counts

  • Totals: The number above each bar counts bookings, not pets

  • Peak times: The tallest bars are your busiest hours

  • Past: On today's graph, hours that have passed show as one grey bar

  • Current time marker: On today's graph, a dashed red line with a pulsing dot marks the current hour. Its label, such as 4 Now, counts that hour's bookings, excluding paid ones

  • vs. Prev Week: When the same day last week had bookings, select vs. Prev Week to show them as a faded bar behind each bar. Select Today to hide it

  • Select a bar to see the bookings in that hour

How to Use

  • Staff planning: See when you need the most hands on deck

  • Break scheduling: Find quiet periods for team breaks

  • Customer management: Prepare for busy periods. To see who arrives or leaves next, use the Coming & Going card

  • Capacity planning: Identify if you're over or under-staffed at certain times

Example Interpretation

On tomorrow's graph, tall green bars at 8am and 9am mean a busy start, with most bookings Confirmed. A blue section means bookings still Pending. Short bars after 3pm mean a quiet afternoon.

Common Questions

Q: Why doesn't my revenue match my bank deposits?
A: Dashboard revenue shows appointment value. Bank deposits may differ due to Stripe fees, pending transfers, or timing differences.

Q: Can I export this data?
A: Currently, insights are view-only in Mission Control. For detailed reports, contact Petboost support about reporting options.

Q: How far back does comparison data go?
A: Week-over-week comparisons look at the same day last week. Longer historical trends are tracked internally.

Q: Why are some cards not showing?
A: Cards appear based on your business type. Boarding cards only show if you offer stay services. Course cards only show if you run classes.
