Launch Wizard

Overview

The Launch Wizard is a guided checklist for switching to Petboost. It covers importing data, picking a go-live date, telling clients, and turning the old booking system off so Petboost is the source of truth.

The wizard appears automatically during onboarding for businesses on a paid plan. Trial users see a Launch Kit preview that unlocks after upgrading.

You can access the Launch Wizard from the main navigation menu while it is active, or visit Launch Petboost directly.

Steps

The wizard adapts to your business. Steps that are already complete (e.g. you have already imported clients) or not relevant (e.g. you do not sell packages) are automatically skipped. Each step can be completed or skipped individually.

1. Import Data

Import your customers, pets, and services into Petboost so profiles are ready when customers log in to book.

The step heading is Import Data. The page heading inside the step is Import Your Data.

  1. Open the Launch Wizard

  2. Open Import Data

  3. Follow Import Your Data to upload a CSV or add clients

  4. Review your services, pricing, and durations

  • Navigate to the setup wizard to upload a CSV or manually add clients

  • Review your services, pricing, and durations

2. Go-Live Date

The step heading is Go-Live Date. The page heading inside the step is Choose Your Go-Live Date.

Pick the date you plan to switch to Petboost. You can add the date to your Google Calendar or download an .ics file for Apple Calendar or Outlook.

About 7 days is the usual window. That gives you time to tell clients, review your transferred appointments from that date, and switch the old booking system off so new bookings are not changing in two places.

If you can review your transferred appointments quickly, 24-48 hours is enough. Use that only when the calendar check is already moving.

How to choose the date:

  • Pick a quieter day so you have time to handle questions

  • Activate your paid plan when you pick the date. A paid plan turns on online bookings and SMS reminders

  • Email clients and post the Canva announcement before the day

  • Review your transferred appointments from this date onwards

  • On the day, turn the old booking system off for new bookings and treat Petboost as the source of truth

3. Notify Customers

The step heading is Notify Customers. The page heading inside the step is Notify Your Customers.

Send a pre-written "We're upgrading our booking system" email to all your customers. The email is personalised with your business name, go-live date, and service requirements (e.g. vaccination certificates, weight).

Options:

  • Copy the email body and paste it into your own email client

  • Use the built-in Bulk Email tool to send directly from Petboost

  • If you have the Communications Booster add-on, you can also send a bulk SMS

4. Social Media

The step heading is Social Media. The page heading inside the step is Announce on Social Media.

Announce the Petboost booking page on social media using ready-made templates.

  • Instagram Square and DL Flyer Canva templates are provided. Clone the template, reskin it with your logo and brand colours, then post it.

  • Pet Owner Education Flyer - generate a branded A4 PDF with a QR code for your front desk

5. Update Links

The step heading is Update Links. The page heading inside the step is Update Your Links.

Replace your old booking links across your website, Instagram bio, Facebook page, and Google Business Profile so customers land on Petboost when they click Book Now. On go-live, take the old booking path down so new bookings stop landing in the old system.

  1. Open Update Links

  2. Copy Booking Page (Recommended)

  3. Copy Direct Booking Link if you want returning clients to skip the browse page

  4. Optional: tap Print Window QR Code for a window or counter card

Your links:

  • Your Booking Page (recommended) - visitors can browse services, see pricing, and book. The short address is https://pbbook.now/{your-business-name}; copy it from Quick Copy Links as Booking Page Link

  • Direct Booking Link - jumps straight to the booking form for returning clients

  • Window QR Code - download a QR booking card for your front window, door, or counter

The step includes platform-specific tips for updating links on your website, Instagram, Facebook, and Google Business Profile.

On Google Business Profile, the booking link goes in the appointment link field, not the website field. Google treats the two separately: the appointment link is what turns on the booking action on your listing, and the website field stays your own website. If you do not have a website, point the website field at your booking page as well.

6. Account Review

The step heading is Account Review. The page heading inside the step is Book Your Account Review.

Schedule a free video call with the Petboost team to review your setup, get help migrating data, and ask any questions. This step is strongly recommended.

7. Google Reviews

The step heading is Google Reviews. The page heading inside the step is Set Up Google Reviews.

  1. Open Google Reviews

  2. Paste the URL into Your Google Review Link

Paste your Google Review link so review requests and report cards point straight at your Google review page. When a client rates their experience 4 or 5 stars on their report card, Petboost suggests they leave a Google review and pre-writes a personalised review for them to copy.

8. Appointments

The step heading is Appointments. The page heading inside the step is Review your transferred appointments.

  1. Open Appointments

  2. Review the list

  3. Optional: tap Go to Appointments to open the calendar

Review the upcoming appointments we transferred into Petboost from your go-live date onwards, against your old system. Tell us anything that is missing or wrong and we correct it before go-live. If you prefer to enter appointments yourself, that is always available. Historical appointments do not need to move.

On the go-live date, stop taking new bookings in the old system so appointments are not changing in two places. Finish any appointment that already sits in the old system there if you need to. From that day, Petboost is the source of truth.

9. Package Credits

The step heading is Package Credits. The page heading inside the step is Import Package Credits.

If your business sells pre-paid packages and customers have outstanding credits from your old system, this step reminds you to raise it during your Account Review call. The Petboost team handles package credit imports during the call.

This step only appears if your business has packages configured.

Completing the Wizard

Once all steps are completed or skipped, click Finish & Go to Mission Control to complete the launch process. All pending onboarding flags are resolved and you are redirected to your Mission Control dashboard.

You can also click Skip Launch Setup at any time to dismiss the wizard and return to it later.

Common Questions

Q: Can I come back to the wizard later?
A: Yes. The wizard remains accessible from the navigation menu until you complete or dismiss it. Your progress is saved automatically.

Q: What if I have already imported my data?
A: The wizard detects existing data and automatically skips completed steps. If you already have clients, the Import Data step is removed.

Q: How much notice do I need to go live?
A: About 7 days. That avoids running two booking systems and appointments changing in both. If you can review your transferred appointments quickly, 24-48 hours is enough.

Q: Should I activate my paid plan now?
A: Yes, when you pick the go-live date. A paid plan turns on online bookings and SMS reminders. Then work through the checklist at Launch Petboost.

Q: Do I have to complete every step?
A: No. Every step can be skipped. Completing the go-live date, client email, appointments, and turning the old booking path off is what makes the switch clean.

Q: Is the Launch Wizard available on trial plans?
A: Trial users see a Launch Kit preview. The full wizard unlocks after upgrading to a paid plan.
