Overview
Save hours of admin time by updating multiple services, team members, or blocked times at once. Instead of editing each item individually, bulk operations let you make changes across your entire business in minutes.

Bulk Update Team Members
Use case: "I want to update the capacity for all my groomers" or "I want my whole team on the same weekly hours."
How to Access
Navigate to Team Members
Select multiple team members using the checkboxes
Click "Bulk Update" in the action bar
Or open the gear menu and select Bulk Update Settings.
What You Can Update in Bulk
Setting | What it changes |
Copy Settings from Team Member | Copies settings from one team member you pick. Under Select which settings to copy:, untick any of Role, Capacity, Working Hours and Services They Perform that you want to leave as they are |
Role | Sets the role to Owner Admin, Admin, Service Performer or Service Supporter |
Booking Capacity | Sets how many appointments each team member can handle at the same time, from 0 to 50. It is not a daily limit |
Working Hours Template | Replaces each team member's weekly working hours. If you tick it and leave it empty, their weekly hours are cleared. Special Dates stay as they are |
Services They Perform | Replaces the services each team member can be booked for. Any service you do not select is removed from them |
When to Use
Onboarding new staff: Set up consistent defaults for new hires
Seasonal changes: Adjust everyone's capacity for busy periods
New service launch: Add the team members on the new service's Team & Resources tab. Services They Perform replaces each person's full service list
Bulk Blocked Time
Use case: "We're closed for Christmas from 25 Dec to 4 Jan - block everyone" or "Mark a training day across all resources."
Petboost does support bulk business-wide closures. You do not need to ask support to create them.
For named Australian public holidays (Christmas Day, Boxing Day, etc. as individual days), use the Public Holidays page instead. For a continuous multi-day closure, use this wizard.
How to Access
Navigate to Team Members or Resources
Open Bulk Block Time from the actions menu
Or open Bulk Blocked Time from the Appointments scheduler actions menu
How the Wizard Works
Select Entities - choose team members and/or resources (Select All for a whole-business close)
Configure Time - add one or more entries with start date, end date, times (or all day), and an optional label
Review & Apply - Petboost adds the blocked time to each selected entity and shows a progress/results summary
What You Can Configure
Option | Description |
Select Entities | Choose which team members and/or resources to block |
Date Range | Single day or a continuous range (e.g. 25 Dec - 4 Jan) |
Time Period | All day, or specific hours (e.g. 9am-12pm only) |
Label | Optional note explaining the blocked time |
Multiple entries | Add several separate blocks in one run |
Common Scenarios
Christmas / New Year Closure:
Open Bulk Block Time from Team Members or Resources
Select All team members and resources
Set date range 25 Dec - 4 Jan, all day, label "Christmas Closure"
Review & Apply
Training Day:
Select the team members attending
Add an entry for the date, all day, label "Professional Development"
Review & Apply
Review & Remove
Blocked time appears on the calendar and on each entity's Leaves & Restrictions (team members) or Blocked Times (resources) tab
The wizard adds a separate block to each entity, so remove an unwanted block from that individual team member or resource - it won't affect the others
Existing appointments inside the closure are not cancelled automatically - check the calendar after applying
Bulk Edit Pet Details
Use case: "I need to add missing weights for all my pets" or "I want to clean up breed data across my customer base."
How to Access
Navigate to Customers & Pets
Open the gear (Settings) menu
Select "Bulk Edit Pet Details"
This option is available to users with the appropriate role permissions.
What You Can Edit in Bulk
The bulk edit view displays all pets in a spreadsheet-style grid. You can edit the following columns directly:
Field | Notes |
Pet name | Free text |
Breed | Searchable dropdown from the Petboost breed database |
Weight (kg) | Numeric |
Gender | Male / Female |
Desexed | Yes / No / Not set |
Birthdate | Date picker |
The Owner column is shown for reference but is read-only.
Filtering
Use the filter options to focus on pets with missing data:
Missing weight - Pets without a recorded weight
Missing birthday - Pets without a recorded birthdate
Missing breed - Pets without a breed assigned
Missing desexed status - Pets without a desexed status set
Publishing Changes
Make your edits in the grid
Click Publish when ready
A dialog shows a summary of changes per pet
Confirm to apply all changes
A progress indicator shows the update status
Cancel many appointments at once
Cancel several bookings from the Scheduler, from a recurring series, or from one customer's profile. There is no Superadmin bulk-cancel screen for business owners.
Select several cards on the Scheduler
Open Scheduler
Select the appointment cards you want to change
Choose Cancel or No-show
Confirm each prompt
The bulk menu also includes Accept, Decline and Check in. After the run finishes, Petboost shows Bulk action results.
Cancel a date range on a recurring series
Open one appointment in the series
Choose Cancel
Select Skip these dates to drop a range, or End series (all future) to stop every future date
Confirm
Cancel one customer's future appointments
Open the customer or pet profile
Open Manage Pet or Manage Owner
Select Cancel Future Appointments
Tick the bookings to cancel, or use Select all and the weekday buttons. The list shows the next 12 months
Choose whether to notify the customer
Select Review cancellation, then Cancel selected bookings
If you are on Mission Control and the owner has two or more upcoming bookings, open the appointment card menu on Pets, Workflow, Roster, Photos, or Attention Required, then select Cancel Future Appointments. That list is for every pet on the owner account.
In-progress, completed, paid, and class bookings stay. Cancellation fees are not charged. Package credits on these bookings are kept. Recurring series end from the next booking, including visits after the 12-month list. If your plan cannot send booking messages, the booking is cancelled silently.
The profile menu Bulk Operations for [name] > Bulk Cancel Appointments is Petboost staff only. Business owners do not see it. See Cancel a customer's future appointments.
Best Practices
Before Making Bulk Changes
Back up your thinking: Know what you're changing and why
Start small: Test with 2-3 items first if you're unsure
Review the preview: Always check the summary before confirming
Pick the right time: Make bulk changes during quiet periods
After Bulk Changes
Check a sample: Verify a few items updated correctly
Review any failures: Address items that couldn't be updated
Communicate if needed: Let your team know about changes that affect them
Common Questions
Q: Can I undo a bulk update?
A: There's no single "undo" button. You would need to perform another bulk update to revert changes. For this reason, review carefully before confirming.
Q: What if some items fail to update?
A: The results screen shows which items succeeded and which failed. Failed items typically have a conflict (e.g., an appointment already booked that prevents a schedule change). Address these individually.
Q: Can I save bulk update presets?
A: No. Filter and select the same group of items using the same criteria each time.
Q: Will customers be notified of bulk service changes?
A: No. Bulk updates to services don't notify customers. Only appointment-level changes (like bulk cancellation) trigger notifications.
