Step 1: Basic Information

Resource Creation - Basic Info
  1. Click "Add New" β†’ "New Resource" from the Resources page, or use Create New Resource

  2. Enter a Resource Name (e.g., "Kennel 1", "Van 1", "Grooming Station A")

  3. Select the Resource Type:

    • Location - For fixed spaces (kennels, rooms, play areas)

    • Asset - For movable equipment (vehicles, carts, tools)

  4. Add an optional Description to explain the resource's purpose

πŸ’‘ Tips for naming:

  • Be descriptive - e.g., "Large Dog Kennel", "Mobile Grooming Van"

  • Use consistent patterns - e.g., "Kennel 1", "Kennel 2", "Kennel 3"

  • Include capacity hints - e.g., "Small Dog Kennel (Max 2 pets)"

Step 2: Details

Resource Creation - Details

Set up the resource's specific details:

For Location Resources:

  • Address - Physical location where the resource is located

  • Capacity - Maximum number of pets that can be accommodated

For Asset Resources:

  • Capacity - Maximum number of pets the asset can handle

  • Description - Additional details about the asset

Capacity Guidelines:

  • Small spaces (individual kennels): 1-2 pets

  • Medium spaces (play areas): 4-8 pets

  • Large spaces (group areas): 10+ pets

  • Vehicles: Based on vehicle size and safety regulations

Step 3: Working Hours

    • Custom Hours - Set specific hours for this resource

    • 24/7 Available - Resource is always available

  2. Override Days - Set different hours for specific days if needed

Common Scenarios:

  • Kennels - Often available 24/7 for overnight stays

  • Grooming Stations - Follow business hours

  • Play Areas - May have restricted hours for noise control

  • Vehicles - Available during business hours only

Step 4: Service Eligibility

Resource Creation - Service Eligibility

Assign which services can use this resource:

  1. Select Services - Choose from your available services

  2. Service Matching - Consider:

    • Kennels β†’ Boarding, Daycare services

    • Grooming Stations β†’ Grooming, Bathing services

    • Play Areas β†’ Exercise, Socialization services
