Customer Package Balances

Updated today

When a customer purchases a package, credits are added to their account balance. This guide explains how to view and track package credits for your customers.

How Package Credits Work

  1. Purchase - Customer buys a package (online or through staff)

  2. Credit Added - Package credits appear in customer's account

  3. Booking - When booking an appointment, customers can use package credits

  4. Credit Deducted - One credit is deducted per service used

  5. Balance Tracking - System tracks remaining credits automatically

Viewing Customer Packages

To see a customer's package balances:

  1. Click "Manage" on any customer/pet

  2. Click the "Packages" tab (shows a badge with the number of active packages)

The Packages Tab

Packages Tab Overview

The Packages tab displays all package purchases for that customer as individual cards. Each package card shows:

Header Information:

  • Pet photo - Visual identifier

  • Package name - Full package title with emoji (if included)

  • Purchase number - "Purchase #1", "Purchase #2", etc. (for repeat purchases)

  • Purchase date - When the package was bought

  • Pre-paid badge - Shows how many credits were included (e.g., "5x Pre-paid")

  • Remaining status - "5 of 5 remaining" or "0 of 5 remaining"

Visual Credit Tracker:

The card displays a unique "rubber stamp" system showing each credit:

  • Purple circle stamps 🟣 - Available credits ready to use

  • Green checkmark stamps βœ… - Credits that have been used

  • Show dates toggle - Turn on to see the date each credit was used

This gives you an instant visual of how many credits are left and when they were used.

New Package Button:

At the top of the tab, there's a green "New" button to purchase additional packages for this customer.

Multiple Purchases of Same Package

Customers can buy the same package multiple times, and each purchase is shown as a separate card:

  • Purchase #1 (3 Oct) - 0 of 5 remaining - Fully used

  • Purchase #2 (10 Oct) - 4 of 5 remaining - 1 credit used

  • Purchase #3 (17 Oct) - 5 of 5 remaining - All credits available

  • Purchase #4 (20 Oct) - 5 of 5 remaining - All credits available

  • Purchase #5 (20 Oct) - 5 of 5 remaining - All credits available

Petboost keeps them separate so you can:

  • Track which purchase credits came from

  • See different purchase dates

  • Handle refunds for specific purchases

  • Maintain separate expiration dates (if applicable)

Collapsed vs. Expanded Cards

To save space, fully-used packages (0 remaining) appear collapsed at the bottom of the list:

  • Collapsed view - Shows package name, purchase number, date, and remaining count

  • Click to expand - Reveals full details including stamp tracker and action buttons

  • Active packages (with remaining credits) are always expanded

This keeps your view focused on packages customers can still use.

Package Indicators Throughout the System

Look for these package-related badges across the app:

  • 🟣 Purple "Package" badge - Appointment uses package credits

  • Tab badge - "Packages 1" shows how many active packages the customer has

  • Credit count - "5 of 10 remaining" shows usage at a glance

  • Pre-paid badge - Green badge showing total credits included
