Overview

The Customers & Pets module helps you manage all aspects of your customer relationships and pet care records. From basic contact information to detailed health records, vaccination tracking, and service preferences, everything you need is in one place.

How It Works

Pet-Centric Organization: Petboost is organized around pets, with each pet linked to their owner (Pet Parent). When you search or browse, you see pets first, with their owner information displayed below.

Comprehensive Profiles: Each pet has a complete profile with tabs for different types of information - from appointments and packages to vaccinations and paperwork.

Quick Access: Search by pet name, owner name, phone number, or email to find records instantly.

Family Connections: See all pets belonging to the same owner in the "Family Pets" section, making it easy to manage families with multiple pets.


Getting Started

Adding Your First Customer and Pet

  1. Click "Add New"

  2. Enter owner information (name, phone, email)

  3. Add pet details (name, breed, gender)

  4. Click "Complete Required Fields"

Petboost creates both the owner and pet together, making it quick to get started.

Viewing Customer and Pet Information

From the Customers & Pets page, you can:

  • Search for pets by name, owner, phone, or email

  • Filter by animal type or card status

  • Click "Manage" to view detailed profiles

Managing Pet Profiles

Each pet profile contains:

  • Summary Panel - Quick reference with photo, basic info, and owner details

  • Petprint Tab - Statistics, favorite services, and attributes

  • Appointments Tab - All scheduled and past appointments

  • Packages Tab - Purchased packages and remaining credits

  • Sales Tab - Transaction history

  • Grooming Tab - Service preferences and instructions

  • Vaccinations Tab - Certificates and records

  • Paperwork Tab - Agreements and documents


Common Workflows

Adding a New Customer

  1. Click "Add New" from the Customers & Pets page

  2. Fill in owner information (first name, surname, phone required)

  3. Add pet details (name, breed, gender required)

  4. Optionally add address, emergency contact, and booking settings

  5. Complete to create both owner and pet

Managing Multiple Pets

  1. Create the first pet with owner information

  2. From the pet's profile, click "New Pet"

  3. Add additional pets (owner is automatically linked)

  4. View all pets in the "Family Pets" section

Updating Pet Information

  1. Find the pet and click "Manage"

  2. Click the edit button next to the pet's name

  3. Update any information (breed, gender, birthday, etc.)

  4. Click "Edit Photo" to upload or change photos

  5. Use Quick Notes for important care instructions

Tracking Vaccinations

  1. Open the pet's profile

  2. Go to the Vaccinations tab

  3. Upload vaccination certificates

  4. Track expiration dates

  5. Download certificates as needed


Tips for Success

Complete Profiles:

  • Add all available information during creation

  • Include photos for easy identification

  • Keep contact information current

  • Update weight and health information regularly

Use Quick Notes:

  • Important behavioral information

  • Special handling requirements

  • Medical conditions or allergies

  • Dietary restrictions

  • Owner preferences

Stay Organized:

  • Link all pets to the correct owner

  • Use the search function to find records quickly

  • Filter by animal type for specific services

  • Keep payment methods updated

Communication:

  • Use click-to-call buttons for quick contact

  • Keep email addresses current for automated notifications

  • Add emergency contacts for all pets

  • Update phone numbers when customers move
