Getting Started with Packages

Overview

Packages allow you to bundle services together and offer them to customers at special pricing. Customers can purchase packages as credits and use them to book appointments at a discounted rate. This helps you increase customer loyalty, encourage repeat bookings, and provide value through bulk pricing.

What are Packages?

A package is a prepaid bundle of service credits that customers can purchase and use for future appointments. For example, you might create a "5-Pack Dog Walking" package that includes 5 dog walking sessions at a discounted price.

What are Packages For?

Packages are multi-use bundles where customers purchase a specific number of service credits (e.g., "5-Pack" or "10-Pack"). Each booking uses one credit from the package balance.

Best for:

  • Recurring services (grooming, walking, daycare)

  • Regular customers who book frequently

  • Building long-term customer relationships

  • Encouraging prepaid bookings with discounted rates


Creating a Package

To create a new package, go to Packages and click "New Package".

You can open package forms directly using these links:

  • Create New Package: https://business.petboost.com/packages?action=create

Benefits:

  • Bookmark creation forms for quick access

  • Share direct links to specific package forms

  • Connect with external sales systems

  • Browser back/forward navigation works naturally

Step 1: Basic Information

Package Creation - Basic Info
  1. Click "New Package" from the Packages page

  2. Enter a Package Name (e.g., "5-Pack Dog Walking Bundle")

  3. Add an optional Description to explain what's included

  4. Select the Service that this package applies to

  • Be clear and specific - e.g., "10-Session Puppy Training Pack"

  • Include the number of sessions - e.g., "5x Private Walk Package"

  • Use emojis to make packages stand out (πŸ“¦ πŸ• ✨)

Step 2: Pricing

Package Creation - Pricing

Set how many service credits are included and the total package price.

  • Services Included - Number of credits the customer receives (e.g., 5, 10, 20)

  • Package Price - Total cost of the package

  • Value Analysis - Petboost automatically calculates:

    • Regular price (if all services were booked separately)

    • Package price per use

    • Total savings (amount and percentage)

    • Savings per use

Example:

Pricing Scenario:

  • Service regular price: $30 per session

  • Package offering: 5 sessions for $125

  • Package price per session: $25

Result: Customer saves $25 total (16.7% discount) and pays $5 less per session

Step 3: Settings

Package Creation - Settings

Configure how customers can purchase the package:

Self-Service Purchase

When enabled:

  • Package appears in your online booking system

  • Customers can purchase directly through the customer portal

  • Payment is processed automatically

  • Credits are added immediately to their account

When disabled (Staff Only):

  • Only staff can add packages during appointment creation

  • Useful for special packages or promotional offers

  • Requires manual processing through the business dashboard


Managing Packages

Go to Packages to view and manage all your packages.

Viewing All Packages

Packages List View

The Packages page shows all your active packages with:

  • Package name and type

  • Number of services included

  • Total price

  • Purchase method (Self-Service or Staff Only)

Use the search bar to find packages by name, type, or description.

Editing a Package

  1. Click "Manage" on any package

  2. Make changes in the three tabs:

    • Basic Info - Update name, description, pricing, or quantity

    • Services - Change which service is included

    • Settings - Toggle self-service purchase on/off

  3. Changes are saved automatically

⚠️ Important: Editing a package only affects future purchases. Existing customer package balances are not changed.

Package Summary Card

The summary card shows at a glance:

  • Package name and type badge

  • Total price

  • Number of services included

  • Purchase availability (Self-Service icon)

Value Analysis Display

See the customer's savings:

  • Regular Price - Total if services were booked separately

  • Package Price Per Use - Cost per credit in the package

  • Savings - Total discount amount and percentage

  • Per Use Savings - How much customers save per visit

This helps you communicate value to customers and justify the package pricing.
