Getting Started with Products

Overview

Products are simple retail line items you can sell in-store and add to appointment invoices alongside services. Use them for shampoo, treats, accessories, and other items you hand to customers at the counter - without running a full inventory system.

Not stock control: Petboost products do not track stock levels, reorder points, or cost of goods. For inventory management options, see How to Manage Retail Inventory.

Accessing Products

  1. Open Products from the main sidebar

  2. Or go to https://business.petboost.com/products

The empty state reads Sell products in-store until you add your first item.

Add a Product

  1. Go to Products

  2. Click Add Product (empty state: Add Your First Product)

  3. Fill in:

    • Name (required)

    • Description (required)

    • Short description (required)

    • Price (required, 0 or greater)

    • Photo (optional)

  4. Save

You can also open the create form with https://business.petboost.com/products?action=create.

Using Products on Invoices

When you take payment on an appointment, add a product as a line item alongside the service. Products are priced catalogue items - they do not consume package credits or membership benefits.

Editing or Removing a Product

  1. Open Products and click the product card

  2. Update the name, descriptions, price, or photo on the product detail page

  3. Archive or remove the product from the product summary actions when you no longer sell it

Edit a product

  1. Open Products.

  2. Select the product card.

  3. If you need to change the photo, select Edit Photo, upload in Replace Product Image, then select Save Changes.

  4. Select Details.

  5. Under Product Information, edit Product Name, Short Description, and Description.

  6. Select Pricing.

  7. Edit Price.

  8. Select Save Changes.

  9. Tick the confirmation, then select Publish Changes.

Optional: select Discard Changes to drop unpublished edits. Pending Changes lists each field you changed.

Archive or delete a product

  1. Open Products.

  2. Select the product card.

  3. On the product summary, select Delete Product. If appointments still use the product, select Archive Product instead.

  4. Choose Archive or Permanently Delete.

  5. Select Archive Service or Delete Service.

If Petboost opens Archive with the product name, resolve the linked appointments, then select Archive Service.

Tips

  • Keep names short and customer-friendly (e.g. "Ear Cleaner 100ml")

  • Use the photo so staff can pick the right item quickly at checkout

  • Price in your business currency; tax handling follows your usual invoice settings
